Celebrating the Women Shaping Technology's Future
Reflections from the Women in IT Summit & Awards Gala

Last month I had the privilege of attending the Women in IT Summit and Awards Gala in Singapore. Walking into a room filled with brilliant technologists, leaders, and changemakers - all committed to shaping the future of technology - was energizing in the best way. 🏆
Shaping the Future of Technology
The Summit's theme couldn't have been more fitting. We explored topics that matter deeply to the future we're building together: impactful tech-for-social-good projects, the metaverse and Web3, AI applications, ESG-centric technology, and how multi-generational teams can drive innovation.
What struck me most was the quality of conversation. These weren't surface-level trend discussions - they were deep dives into how we can use technology responsibly, inclusively, and with real impact. The panelists brought both technical depth and human wisdom.
I left each session with new perspectives on leadership, new connections with delegates from leading corporations, and a renewed sense of what's possible when diverse voices shape our industry's direction.
A Night of Well-Deserved Recognition
The Awards Gala dinner at Shangri-La Hotel was the highlight of the experience. ✨
I was especially proud to celebrate Yean Ping Yar from Singlife, who emerged as a finalist among an incredibly talented pool of nominees. As the head of migration leading transformational projects, Yean Ping embodies the kind of technical leadership and vision these awards exist to honor.
Congratulations to Yean Ping, the entire Singlife team, and everyone who supported this journey. And to all the winners and nominees - you are true role models. Your dedication and hard work inspire all of us to push boundaries and lift others as we climb.
Why This Work Matters
Events like the Women in IT Summit aren't just about celebration - though that matters enormously. They're about building the networks, sharing the knowledge, and creating the visibility that helps more women enter, stay in, and lead within technology.
Diversity in tech isn't a checkbox. It's how we build better products, make smarter decisions, and create technology that actually serves the full spectrum of humanity. When women are at the table - and better yet, leading the conversation - we all benefit.
I'm grateful to have been part of this gathering, and I'm looking forward to continuing our efforts in promoting diversity and supporting the women who are transforming the world of technology. More opportunities for learning, networking, and celebrating the power of diverse perspectives are ahead. 🚀
To everyone who contributed to making this Summit and Awards Gala such a meaningful experience - thank you. Together, we're shaping a more inclusive, innovative future.
